People often ask where the name Star Spangled Gypsy came from, and honestly, it’s the story of my life — one stitched together with laughter, travel, and a whole lot of coffee.

You see, I’ve never lived in the same place for more than five years. Not once. I’ve spent fifty years roaming all fifty states, collecting memories like seashells and stories like souvenirs. Somewhere between the coastlines and the coffee shops, I realized I’m a modern-day gypsy — not because of where I go, but because of how I live: freely, joyfully, and always curious about what’s around the next bend.

And that, my friends, is how Star Spangled Gypsy was born.

But before we go further, let’s get one thing straight: I’m a serious coffee drinker. The darker, the better. Don’t expect me to sparkle before cup number two (and a little chat with Jesus). Despite what my nickname “Sandy Sunshine” might suggest, there are no rainbows until caffeine says so. ☕✨

If we’ve ever met in person, you already know one thing for sure — my laugh. It’s big, boisterous, and a little impossible to ignore. Within five minutes, you’ll either be laughing at me or with me — and truthfully, I don’t mind which, as long as we’re laughing together.

My love for travel runs deep. I even love airports — yes, really! I adore watching people scurry between gates, soaking up local art displays, or sipping coffee while watching planes lift into the clouds. There’s something magical about the motion of it all — the sense that the world is full of possibilities just waiting to be explored.

After six states and countless adventures, I always say the same thing when someone asks my favorite place to live: wherever I am right now. These days, that’s Apollo Beach, Florida — a little slice of sunshine where palm trees sway, and creativity runs wild.

Here, inspired by the tropics and my travels, Star Spangled Gypsy began to bloom. What started as designing fabrics and embellishing one-of-a-kind pieces has grown into a full line of clothing — playful, bold, and made for those who dare to dress with joy.
