🍊Zesty Biscuit Buckets & Fancy Butter

Ingredients  (Makes 8 golden beauties)

  • 4 tablespoons cold butter

  • 1 tablespoon cold butter (for that buttery sizzle in the skillet)

  • 3 ½ cups Biscuit Mix (I swear by Southern Biscuit Mix Formula 1)

  • 1 ¼ cups cold buttermilk

  • Zest and juice of 1 juicy orange

Let’s Get Biscuitin’!

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450°F and pop your cast iron skillet in there to heat up along with it.

Step 2: In a big ol’ bowl, cut 4 tablespoons of cold butter into your biscuit mix until the butter disappears like magic.

Step 3: Pour in your buttermilk, plus the orange zest and juice. Stir it gently with a wooden spoon — don't overmix or the biscuit gods will frown.

Step 4: Take out your hot skillet and melt that extra tablespoon of butter in the bottom. It’ll sizzle and smell like heaven.

Step 5: Grease your hands (trust me) and form 8 little biscuit balls. Drop them right into that buttery skillet.

Step 6: Bake for about 18 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and calling your name.

Step 7: Pop those beauties into a bucket, carry it out to the porch, and enjoy the moment.

Whether you're wearing your favorite citrus-print dress or just sipping iced tea on the porch, these Zesty Biscuit Buckets are like a summer hug in food form. 🍊☀️

🌸 Fancy Butter

Butter... but make it beautiful.

This isn’t your average butter — this is Fancy Butter. Think creamy, dreamy butter wrapped in a garden of edible blooms. It’s perfect for brunch boards, tea parties, or any day you want to feel just a little extra.

I used marigolds and sunflower petals for mine, but you can mix and match from a whole bouquet of edible flowers — whatever's blooming and beautiful!

✨ Ingredients

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • Edible flower petals:Nasturtiums, pansies, violas, calendula, borage, chive blossoms, lavender, rose petals, hibiscus, marigold, chamomile, violets, squash blossoms, honeysuckle (nectar only), elderflowers, sunflowers(I used marigolds and sunflowers for a bright, bold look.)

🧈 How to Make It Fancy

Step 1: Lay a piece of plastic wrap flat on your counter. Place the butter stick right in the center and let it soften to room temperature — soft enough to press petals into, but not melted.

Step 2: Gently press your edible flower petals into all sides of the butter. Use the plastic wrap to help roll and turn the stick, covering it evenly in floral beauty.

Step 3: Once fully adorned, wrap it tightly in the plastic wrap and pop it into the fridge or freezer to firm up.

Step 4: When ready to serve, slice it with a sharp knife and wow your guests (or just yourself).

Serve with warm biscuits (hello, Zesty Biscuit Buckets!), fresh bread, or scones. It’s the kind of detail that turns “just butter” into something unforgettable. 🌼🧈

🍊 Orange You Glazy

The citrusy drizzle your biscuits have been dreaming of.

This bright, sweet glaze brings the sunshine — perfect for drizzling over warm Zesty Biscuit Buckets or anything else that needs a little extra sparkle (looking at you, pound cake 👀).

✨ Ingredients

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • Zest and juice of 1 fresh orange

🍊 How to Glaze Like a Pro

In a small bowl, mix everything together until smooth and dreamy. It should be pourable but not runny — think slow-motion drizzle.

Once your biscuits are out of the oven and cozied up on a plate, pour that glaze with confidence. Let it drip, let it shine, and most of all — let it be zesty.

Optional but encouraged: a little extra orange zest on top for ✨fancy points✨.

Orange you glad you made it? 😄

🧈 Bucket Biscuits (The Classic Edition)

Fluffy. Buttery. Born to be devoured on a porch.

No orange this time — just pure, golden, buttery biscuit bliss. These are the OGs that started it all. Soft on the inside, crispy on the edges, and absolutely begging for jam, honey, or Fancy Butter.

✨ Ingredients (Makes 8 golden beauties)

  • 4 tablespoons cold butter

  • 1 tablespoon cold butter (for that sizzling skillet magic)

  • 3 ¼ cups biscuit mix (I’m loyal to Southern Biscuit Mix Formula 1)

  • 1 ¼ cups cold buttermilk

👩‍🍳 Let’s Get Biscuitin’!

Step 1: Crank your oven up to 450°F and pop your cast iron skillet in there to preheat. It needs to get hot and toasty — just like your future biscuits.

Step 2: In a big ol’ bowl, cut the 4 tablespoons of cold butter into the biscuit mix. Keep going until the butter disappears like a buttery little magic trick.

Step 3: Pour in that buttermilk and stir gently with a wooden spoon. No overmixing allowed — we’re making biscuits, not stress.

Step 4: Carefully take your hot skillet out of the oven and drop in the remaining tablespoon of butter. Let it melt and sizzle like a buttery applause.

Step 5: Grease your hands (seriously, this helps), then roll the dough into 8 rustic little biscuit balls and drop them right into that golden pool of love.

Step 6: Bake for 18 minutes, or until your kitchen smells like a dream and the tops are perfectly golden.

Step 7: Transfer your biscuits into a cute bucket (or, you know, a plate) and carry them out to the porch. Sit down, sip something sweet, and enjoy the simple magic you just made.

Because let’s be honest — life’s just better with a warm biscuit in hand and a breeze on your face. 💛🧺🥐
